Materials Accepted and Sold at Habitat ReStore

  • Appliances

    Washing machines, dryers, stoves, ovens, cooktops, range hoods, microwaves, refrigerators/freezers (see below), air conditioners, box fans, dehumidifiers, air purifiers, vacuums, etc.

    *All appliances must be clean, complete, and in 100% working order.

    *New only dishwashers and water heaters

    *Refrigerators must be plugged in for 8 hours before pickup and are not eligible for drop-off donation.


  • Cabinets and Countertops

    Full kitchen cabinet sets, individual cabinets, countertops.

    *Stone countertops cannot exceed 4 feet in length

    *Must be free of water damage

  • Flooring

    Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, rugs, carpeting (see below), tile, and new-in-the-bag grout.

    *New only carpeting

    *Minimum of 30 square feet

    *Must be free of nails or adhesive


  • Furniture

    Dressers, bookshelves, end tables, bed frames, couches, recliners, coffee tables, dining tables, desks, unique furniture, etc.

    *Must be clean, and free of stains, tears, damage, and pet hair/odors

    *We cannot accept hide-a-beds/sleeper sofas, futons, bunk beds, or cribs.

    *We cannot accept oversized, heavy pieces such as TV entertainment centers and hutches.

  • Building Materials

    Hardware, lumber, trim, plywood (1/2 or full sheets), architectural salvage, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting supplies, etc.

    *New only insulation, shingles, aluminum siding, and drywall (full sheets)
    *Lumber and trim pieces must be a minimum of 3 feet in length and free of nails
    *New only cans of paint and stain

  • Bathroom

    Vanities, sinks, clean toilets, medicine cabinets, towel bars, and accessories.

    *New only bathtubs and shower stalls
    *Unfortunately, we cannot accept standalone vanity tops or shower doors

  • Lighting

    Fully functional floor lamps, table lamps, hanging light fixtures, outdoor lighting/street lights, and lightbulbs.

    *We cannot accept fluorescent, halogen, or sodium fixtures or bulbs

  • Tools

    Power tools, table saws, hand tools, and accessories (toolboxes, storage, etc.).

    *Must be in full working order and have all power cords, batteries, and chargers.

  • Lawn and Garden

    Bricks, pavers, fencing, garden tools, lawn ornaments, mowers, leaf blowers, snowblowers, etc.

  • Windows and Doors

    Interior and exterior doors, bifold closet doors, framed windows, shutters, and decorative window sashes.

    *Windows must have all sashes and frames (unless they are craft windows)
    *We cannot accept doors or windows with broken or fogged glass
    *New only patio doors

  • Home Decor

    Art, antiques, figurines, bric-a-brac, decorative glassware, rugs, mirrors, etc.

  • Small Appliances and Other

    Vacuums, dehumidifiers, air purifiers, box fans, etc.

    *No computers
    *Flat screen TVs can be accepted if they are less than 5 years old

Items which are not accepted

Clothing, linens
Mattresses, box springs, sleeper sofas, and futons
Medical equipment
Hazardous chemicals or items suspected to contain lead paint
Items intended for use by children under the age of 12 (bunk beds, cribs, etc.)
Items that present safety concerns: Used fire alarms, corded window blinds
Oversized/heavy items: pianos, large entertainment centers, cast iron sinks and tubs, stone countertops over 4 feet
